Vinted photo tool

Check a Vinted photo has enough pixels to show labels and flaws, before you list it.

Report

Your pass or fail report appears here.

    Quick answer

The Vinted photo tool checks that a photo has enough pixels and a usable file type, using our own targets: 500 px minimum, 1080 px suggested, JPEG or PNG, under 20 MB. Vinted publishes no pixel, shape or file size rules, so these are sharpness checks and not Vinted requirements. Nothing is uploaded.

    What this tool does

    How to use it

    1. 1Add your first photo, showing the whole item.
    2. 2Check that the size and file type results pass.
    3. 3Work through the Vinted shot list below before you post.

Vinted does not publish pixel sizes, shapes or a required background. Its help pages focus on what the photo shows: the whole item first, no collage, daylight, no flash or filters. So nobody can honestly tell you a Vinted photo will fail on size, and any exact figure you read online is someone's opinion.

What we can test is whether your file holds enough detail for a buyer to read a care label. The 500 px floor and 1080 px target here are our own practical numbers, not Vinted rules.

The shots that matter most on Vinted

Vinted allows up to 20 photos per listing, and most secondhand listings have room for more of them. Its help pages ask for several angles, close-ups of labels, logos and stitching on branded items, and readable text. For certain categories, such as designer goods, electronics and cosmetics, they ask for at least three close-ups to support authenticity and compliance with Vinted's catalogue rules.

Photograph flaws as well as describing them. Vinted notes that a buyer who finds an unmentioned defect may want to cancel and return, so a clear picture of a small stain can save you a dispute. A hole you can see in the photo is much harder to argue about later.

    Privacy and stock images

Vinted suggests keeping your face out of pictures, and blurring or cropping identifying features if you model the item yourself. Hangers, mannequins and flat lays all work instead. Stock images, watermarked images and pictures found online are not allowed, because they are copyrighted and do not show your item's real condition. That applies even when the brand's photo shows exactly the same model.

    Questions sellers ask

What is the best photo size for Vinted?

Vinted does not state one. A photo from any recent phone is well above what you need, so the usual problem is blur from poor light, not low resolution. If you have compressed an image heavily, this tool shows whether 1080 pixels on the shorter side survived.

Does a Vinted photo need a white background?

No. We found no background rule on Vinted's help pages, so this tool does not test for one. A plain wall or floor keeps attention on the item, and daylight gives truer colours than lamplight, which matters when buyers are choosing by shade.

Can I use a collage as my first Vinted photo?

Vinted asks you not to use collages, and to show the entire item in the first picture. Put your angles and close-ups in separate photos instead. With a limit of 20 per listing, there is no need to squeeze several views into one image.

Should the Fix All button be used for Vinted photos?

Only if your file is too small or in an unusual format, since it mainly resizes and re-saves. It cannot add detail to a blurry picture, and it will not change your background. For a soft or dark photo, the better fix is to reshoot it near a window.

What photos should I take of a branded item on Vinted?

Add close-ups of labels, logos and stitching alongside the whole item, plus proof of purchase if you have it. For categories such as designer goods, electronics and cosmetics, Vinted's help pages ask for at least three close-ups to support authenticity and catalogue compliance.

Can I use a photo from the brand website on Vinted?

No. Stock images, watermarked images and pictures found online are not allowed, because they are copyrighted and do not show your item's real condition. That applies even when the brand's photo shows exactly the same model, so photograph the one you are selling.

Should I show flaws in my Vinted photos?

Yes, show them as well as describing them. Vinted notes that a buyer who finds an unmentioned defect may want to cancel and return. A clear close-up of a small stain or hole can save you a dispute, and it is harder to argue about later.

Does passing this check mean my Vinted photo is fine?

Not by itself. A pass means the file has enough pixels and a usable format against our own targets. Vinted cares about what the picture shows: the whole item first, no collage, good daylight, no flash or filters. Check those points yourself.

Is there a free tool to check Vinted photos?

Yes, this page is free and the photo stays in your browser. Treat it as a quick test for over-compressed or undersized files, rather than an official check, because Vinted has not published the figures it tests. Vinted did not make or review it.

How do I check a Vinted photo on my phone?

Open this page in your phone browser and pick the photo from your gallery. The result appears on the same page and the file stays on your phone. If the size passes but the picture looks soft, reshoot near a window instead of editing it.
