    Quick answer

The ListingFix Amazon image checker tests a main product photo against the rules sellers commonly work to: a pure white background, about 85% product fill, 500 pixels minimum and 1600 recommended on the longest side, and a 10 MB file limit. These figures are seller guidance, not confirmed Amazon rules, so compare them with Seller Central.

    How to use it

    1. 1Add your main product photo.
    2. 2Read the report on background, fill, size, file limit and format.

Amazon main images are judged on things your eye misses: a background that measures off-white, or a product that sits too small in the frame. This checker reads the pixels and reports each one.

We could not open Amazon's own help pages to confirm these numbers, so they come from seller guidance. Compare them with Seller Central before a large upload.

    What the checker cannot see

It measures pixels, so it cannot tell whether a badge, a prop or a line of text sits inside your product area. Look for those yourself. Fix All also cannot enlarge a product inside its frame: if the fill check warns, crop closer or reshoot.

    Questions sellers ask

What size should an Amazon product image be?

Seller guidance commonly says at least 1000 pixels on the longest side for zoom, and many sellers aim for 1600 or more. This checker warns below 1600 and fails below 500 on the longest side. We could not confirm these on Amazon's own pages, so check Seller Central.

Why was my Amazon main image rejected?

Seller guidance points to a few usual causes: an off-white background, a product filling too little of the frame, or text, logos, watermarks, borders and props. We could not read Amazon's own policy, so check the reason shown in Seller Central, then test the photo here.

Why does my white background fail?

Phones often record white as light grey or cream. The checker needs at least 98% of the outer ring of pixels to measure true white, which seller guidance gives as RGB 255, 255, 255. Shoot in brighter, even light, or remove the background in an editor first.

How is the 85% fill measured?

We find the box around every pixel that is not close to white, then compare its longer side to the frame. It is a good estimate rather than Amazon's own measure, and pale products can read smaller than they are, so a warning is worth a visual check.

Does an Amazon main image have to be square?

The sources we read do not make square a requirement, so this checker does not fail other shapes, and Fix All keeps your photo's original shape. Square is still popular, because a tall or wide product can look small in a square display.

Can Fix All make my product bigger in the frame?

No. Fix All resizes the whole photo, so the product keeps the same share of the frame. If the fill check warns, crop closer in an editor or reshoot with the product nearer the camera, then run the check again on the new photo.

Can I put text or a logo on my Amazon main image?

Seller guidance says to keep text, logos, watermarks, borders and props off the main image. This checker measures pixels, so it cannot see them inside your product area and will not warn you. Look for them yourself before you upload the photo.

Does this cover my other Amazon images?

It applies main image rules. Forum replies say secondary images can usually show lifestyle scenes and text, so a white background failure on those may not matter. Use this checker for the first image in your listing, and check your category's rules for the others.

Are these Amazon image rules official?

No. We could not open Amazon's own help pages, so these numbers come from seller guidance, and the page marks them as unverified. A pass here means your photo fits that guidance, not that Amazon will accept it. Compare with Seller Central before a large upload.

Is there a free Amazon image checker that does not upload my photo?

Yes. This one is free and runs in your browser, so your photo stays on your device and no account is needed. That makes it practical for products you have not launched, since the picture is never sent to a server.
